The 16th day of the protest begins, citizens gather in “Skënderbej” square

Protesters who have maintained opposition to the investment project within the protected area of Pishë Poro–Nartë for over two weeks have announced a new demonstration in Tirana concerning the construction activities in Zvërnec. According to the organizers, the day’s events will commence with the citizens gathering in a central square. Following the assembly, participants are scheduled to march along “Dëshmorët e Kombit” boulevard, concluding their march in front of the Prime Minister’s building.

At the designated location, activists and protest participants are expected to deliver speeches detailing their concerns. After the speeches conclude, the demonstration is anticipated to proceed through various city streets. An activist present at the announcement noted that the march is being spearheaded by young people.

However, they also indicated that additional measures would be implemented to prevent potential incidents during the event. This planned protest serves as a continuation of the ongoing public objection to the development work. The mobilization aims to draw attention to the environmental concerns surrounding the protected natural area.

Organizers emphasized that while the initiative is youth-led, supplementary arrangements are being made to ensure the safety and order of the demonstration for all attending citizens. The planned route and sequence of events are designed to maximize visibility while adhering to public assembly protocols.
