The company that produces your iPhone is now building an electric SUV with 468 cubic inches of power

Foxconn, the Taiwanese electronics manufacturing giant renowned for assembling the iphone, has introduced its second foray into the automotive sector: the Cavira, an electric SUV developed by its subsidiary, Foxtron. This new vehicle is slated for an initial launch in Taiwan, with plans for subsequent expansion into additional global markets. The Cavira presents a modern aesthetic, boasting dimensions comparable to models like the Tesla Model Y.

Its exterior features include contemporary LED lighting elements and a streamlined, aerodynamic design. Inside, the cabin is equipped with a 15.6-inch central touchscreen display, complemented by a digital instrument panel, while critical physical controls have been retained for ease of use. The company is offering the SUV in two distinct configurations.

The base model features a single motor, producing 249 horsepower and offering an estimated range of approximately 578 kilometers. For performance enthusiasts, a dual-motor variant is available, generating 468 horsepower and achieving 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, though this performance model has a reduced range. Both versions are powered by an 82.7 kWh battery pack.

This introduction signals Foxconn’s continued diversification beyond its established role in consumer electronics into the competitive electric vehicle market.
