The acting Prime Minister of Kosovo and leader of the Lëvorarnikë Demokratike e Kosovës (LVV), Albin Kurti, conveyed a sense of optimism regarding potential agreements with the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) following a recent meeting. Speaking to the media, Kurti stated that he was optimistic about reaching a consensus with the LDK. He cited the public interest and mutual goodwill as key factors that could allow for the constitution of necessary institutions, thereby preempting the need for new elections.
Kurti added that maintaining institutional stability would ensure the continuation of numerous ongoing and planned projects. The discussions took place during a meeting attended by Lumir Abdixhiku, leader of the LDK. Abdixhiku was accompanied to the session by Vjosa Osmani, the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement.
During the press briefing, Albin Kurti addressed the context of the gathering, confirming that the meeting with Abdixhiku was part of broader consultations aimed at forming the state’s institutions. However, Kurti did not provide a definitive answer regarding whether Vjosa Osmani was considered a consensus candidate for the presidency. The exchange focused primarily on the political path forward and the necessity of achieving agreements to ensure governmental continuity and stability within Kosovo.
