The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) leader, Lumir Abdixhiku, announced that a recent meeting took place between himself and the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV), Albin Kurti. During the discussions, the primary focus areas were institutional stability within Kosovo and the necessity of postponing scheduled elections. Following the engagement, abdixhiku confirmed that both parties reached an agreement to continue dialogue in the coming days.
Speaking about the talks, the LDK leader stated, “We spoke about institutional stability and the necessary postponement of elections. At this stage, we agreed to continue the conversations.”
According to the LDK’s account, the conversation centered on broader political principles rather than the discussion of specific candidates or names. Abdixhiku elaborated that the dialogue was focused on establishing foundational principles, noting, “We talked about principles, and for the LDK, these principles require democratic balance in the country.
All parties must contribute to this balance. We have not managed to discuss specific names.”
The reported outcomes suggest a mutual commitment among the key political figures to address systemic governance issues before proceeding with electoral timelines. The continuation of these talks indicates an ongoing effort by the major political actors to navigate the path toward achieving a broader consensus on Kosovo’s institutional framework.
