The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Dimal Basha, announced that the construction of the Junik-Gjeravicë road is nearing completion. This significant infrastructure project involved an investment valued at 4.8 million, realized through a Cooperation Memorandum established with the Municipality of Junik. The 18-kilometer roadway is anticipated to provide quicker and safer transit access to the town of Gjeravica.
Officials stated that the primary objectives of the project are to stimulate local tourism development, boost the regional economy, and generate new opportunities for the residents residing in the area. Minister Basha emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure, particularly in mountainous regions. He stated that the current focus involves making significant investments that improve connectivity, thereby supporting both tourism growth and overall accessibility throughout Kosovo.
The development of this crucial link is expected to substantially improve daily life and economic prospects for the communities served by the Junik area. The nearing completion of this major road segment is viewed as a key step in modernizing regional transport networks and connecting previously less accessible areas to wider economic centers.
