The Macedonian Civil Aviation Control Union (SKT) strike was once more suspended by the Basic Court in Skopje, a decision considered unlawful. Following this ruling, a criminal charge has been filed against the union’s chairman, Aleksandar Tasevski, for alleged abuse of power. Goran Nikollovski, the National Civil Aviation Administration (M-NAV)’s legal representative, announced the developments at a press conference yesterday.
He explained that the court’s prohibition of the strike stemmed from several key issues. Specifically, the court determined that the strike lacked a formal request to safeguard workers’ rights. Furthermore, the union failed to adhere to a mandatory procedure, following the revelation of confidential business information.
This information was leaked to the “Burevesnik” portal by a union member. The court’s action underscores the seriousness of the situation and the legal consequences faced by those involved. The ongoing dispute highlights concerns regarding transparency and adherence to established protocols within the civil aviation sector.
The investigation into the leaked information and the subsequent criminal charge against Mr. Tasevski continues.
