The acquittal was issued by the Criminal Court less than a month ago against former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, who faced charges in the “Talir 2” investigation regarding the alleged illegal construction of the OBRM-PDUKM headquarters. In detailing the rationale for the judgment, Judge Daniela Aleksovska-Stojanovska noted that the decision was influenced by the amendments made to the Penal Code in 2023, suggesting these revisions significantly affected the elements constituting the criminal act. As of the time of this report, the matter remains pending following the filing of the appeal.
