Ukrainian Staff: Russia has lost about 1.5 million soldiers in the war against Ukraine

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported substantial losses incurred by Russian forces since the commencement of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. According to the figures released, the Ukrainian command asserts that Russia has lost an estimated total of 1,482,150 soldiers. This cumulative count reportedly includes approximately 1,400 personnel losses sustained by Russian forces over the preceding day.

Beyond personnel, the report details extensive materiel losses across various military assets. The Ukrainian General Staff stated that Russia has lost 12,304 tanks and 25,237 armored fighting vehicles. Equipment losses also include 140,248 general vehicles and fuel tankers, alongside 48,694 artillery systems.

Furthermore, the data specifies losses in specialized weaponry and platforms. The reports tally 2,065 multiple rocket launchers, 1,590 air defense systems, 440 aircraft, and 354 helicopters. In the domain of unmanned technology, 2,404 unmanned ground vehicles have been reported lost.

Naval assets include 35 ships and boats, and two submarines. These figures provide a comprehensive overview of the military hardware and manpower that the Ukrainian command claims Russia has lost during its operations within Ukraine.
