The “Urban Train” service begins circulating yesterday on the Zelenikovë-Skopje line.

The Ministry of Transport has announced that the official promotion for the “Urban Train” project is scheduled for Wednesday, September 2nd. The urban train system is set to commence operations tomorrow on its initial line. This first route connects Tri të Paraparat, specifically traversing through Zelenikovë, Zelenikovë e Re, Oreshan, Jane Sandanski, Draçevë, Lisiçe, and concluding at the new Skopje railway station.

The promotional event is anticipated to draw several high-ranking officials. Attendees are expected to include Prime Minister Christian Mickoski, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Aleksandar Nikolloski, Sinisha Ivanovski, director of NP HM Infrastructure, and Dejan Koshutiq, director of HM Transport. Furthermore, the event will feature the Mayor of Skopje, Orce Gjeorgjievski, alongside the mayors representing the municipalities of Zelenikovë, Kosta Manevski, Kisella Vodës, Beti Stamenkovska Trajkova, and Aerodromi, Dejan Mitevski.

The launch marks a significant step in the development of public transit infrastructure. The initial operation of the train line is expected to improve connectivity across these key areas of Skopje. Officials anticipate the service will provide a reliable and modern commuting option for residents utilizing the urban network.
