The Women’s Fair: An Opportunity for Promoting Local Products

The “Women in Business” Fair commenced today at the “Mother Teresa” hall in Pristina, an event designed to bolster the national economy through the support of women-owned enterprises. According to Mimoza Kusari-Lila, the acting Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Innovation, the fair receives direct backing from the ministry dedicated to women’s businesses. A primary objective of the event is to increase public awareness regarding the economic value of purchasing local goods, thereby strengthening the country’s overall economy.

During the opening ceremony, representatives also addressed the status of female employment within the nation. One speaker noted that there has been a measurable increase in the number of employed women compared to the previous government mandate. However, this individual cautioned that while progress has been made, the sector has not yet reached its optimal stage.

The speaker acknowledged that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo has undertaken intensive efforts during its tenure to empower the workforce. The fair serves as a central platform connecting entrepreneurs with consumers, emphasizing the role of women in economic development. By promoting local products, the initiative aims to build self-sufficiency and support grassroots commerce.

The continued support for such events underscores the commitment to fostering a robust and inclusive business environment for female entrepreneurs across Kosovo.
