As this date marks the 27th anniversary of the conclusion of the war in Kosovo, efforts to account for those affected remain ongoing. According to data provided by the Institute for Crimes Committed During the War in Kosovo, a significant number of people are still unaccounted for, with 1,577 individuals officially listed as missing from the conflict that spanned 1998–1999. In recognition of this enduring issue, the President’s Office, through Albulena Haxhiu, is scheduled to pay tribute on the International Day of Missing Persons.
The ceremony will take place at the Missing Persons Monument in Pristina, commencing at 9:30 AM. The focus of the commemoration underscores the lasting human cost of the war.
