The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has issued a notice implementing a temporary restriction on the circulation of freight vehicles exceeding 20 tons starting today. This measure is a preventative action due to forecasted high temperatures, with levels expected to reach 32 degrees Celsius or higher. The restriction specifically applies to the motorway corridor and will be in effect between 11:00 and 17:30.
Despite the limitations on the primary motorway, the Ministry confirmed that the movement of heavy vehicles remains unrestricted on national, regional, and connecting roads. Crucially, certain essential services and authorities have been granted exemptions from this temporary mandate. These exclusions include vehicles belonging to law enforcement agencies, public security services, emergency response teams, and medical institutions.
The Ministry has formally appealed to all economic operators and professional transport drivers to adhere strictly to the established guidelines. Stakeholders are advised to review the schedule and plan their logistical movements accordingly to ensure compliance with the temporary restrictions put in place for public safety and infrastructure management. The goal of the directive is to mitigate potential risks associated with high ambient temperatures affecting heavy vehicle operations.
