Over the past 24 hours, police officers conducted extensive enforcement operations across the country, resulting in the detention of 22 individuals for various infractions related to motor vehicle operation, according to the Ministry of Interior. The primary reason cited for the detentions was careless driving. The investigation uncovered several significant violations among the detained drivers.
A notable finding was that thirteen of the individuals were operating vehicles without possessing a valid driver’s license. These violations were geographically distributed, with four instances recorded in Skopje and four in Manastir, alongside two cases in Vinica, and single violations each in Kumanovo, Kavadar, and Tetovo. In addition to licensing issues, several drivers were found operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol.
Specifically, there were reports of two separate incidents in Skopje and Kriva Palanka, and another instance recorded in Veles, Kumanovo, Shtip, and Strumica. Furthermore, one person from Skopje was apprehended for driving an unregistered vehicle. The comprehensive documentation of these multiple violations confirms the breadth of the enforcement effort.
The authorities confirmed that appropriate criminal charges will be filed against all the detained drivers following the completion of the case documentation. The Ministry issued a public appeal, urging the public to exercise caution while driving and adhere strictly to all traffic regulations to ensure safety across the entire territory.
