The Police Supervision Agency (AMP) has detained two employees from the State Police of Precinct No. 3 in Tirana. The two individuals are suspected of involvement in criminal offenses, specifically “Passive corruption of persons who exercise public functions” and “Abuse of office,” committed in collaboration, as detailed under articles 259, 248, and 25 of the Penal Code.
According to a statement issued by the AMP, the investigation commenced following the circulation of multiple video clips across social media platforms. These videos reportedly depicted the two police officers accepting money from a vehicle director. The alleged purpose of this payment was to prevent the director from facing penalties for a traffic violation.
Both inspectors from Precinct No. 3 in Tirana are specifically suspected of participating in the crime of “Passive corruption of persons who exercise public functions.”
The agency’s action underscores an investigation into misconduct within the police force. The detention of the two officers follows public exposure via social media, leading authorities to investigate potential breaches of public trust and professional conduct within the local police department.
