Ukrainian forces conducted a coordinated drone attack early Sunday morning, April 19, targeting critical infrastructure across all occupied territories, as well as maritime logistics vessels in the Black and Azov Seas. According to Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces (USF), drone units struck 59 targets throughout the night. The operation placed a significant emphasis on disrupting power distribution grids.
Reports indicate that the attacks specifically targeted 13 electrical substations. Brovdi further specified that eight of the targeted substations were located within occupied Crimea. Among the facilities struck were the Soliana 110 kV Substation in Kerch, the Azovska 220 kV Substation in Staryi Krym, and the Zoria 110 kV Substation in Ponyzivka.
These coordinated strikes demonstrate a focus on degrading the enemy’s ability to maintain essential services and logistical movements. The attacks covered both terrestrial power networks and naval assets in the regional seas. The deployment of Ukrainian drone units highlights sustained efforts to impact occupied areas’ operational capacity through targeted strikes on vital electrical infrastructure and maritime supply lines.
