Graphic designer Erti Krasniqi, who is based in Prizren, has released a creative endeavor conceptualizing the potential visual identity of Kosovo’s national banknotes. This undertaking, titled “Kosovo Banknote Design (Concept) 2026,” aims to explore what the currency of Kosovo could look like should the country establish its own monetary system. The core of the project involves Krasniqi integrating several distinct elements into the proposed designs.
These elements include motifs reflecting Kosovo’s national identity, specific local symbolism drawn from the region, and contemporary concepts utilized in modern banknote security features. Krasniqi emphasized that this work is purely a creative exercise and does not represent an official or institutional proposal regarding Kosovo’s currency. He stated that the initiative is intended solely as an exploration of visual possibilities.
“Ultimately, I realized a personal project called ‘Kosovo Banknote Design (Concept) 2026,’ where I conceptualized what Kosovo’s banknotes could look like if the country had its own currency,” Krasniqi noted. The project thus serves as a conceptual blueprint, inviting discussion around potential national branding and the visual representation of Kosovo’s economic standing. By combining artistic vision with considerations of modern financial security, Krasniqi offers a detailed visualization of what a self-determined Kosovo currency might entail.
The work remains a creative contribution to the public discourse surrounding national symbolism and monetary design.
