Zelensky: Only Trump can bring Putin to the negotiating table

European leaders have encouraged US President Donald Trump to facilitate an agreement aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine. At a recent G7 summit, the President expressed concern over the deep mutual antipathy between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin, noting that this dynamic complicated efforts to reach a resolution. Despite these challenges, Trump pledged to exert maximum effort to move the talks forward.

He suggested that Moscow should consider entering into an agreement, drawing a parallel between Russia’s losses and those experienced by Ukraine. The G7 nations, comprising the US, Japan, France, Canada, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Germany, also reached a consensus to impose additional sanctions targeting Russian energy resources. Furthermore, the European Union is in the process of preparing its 21st package of sanctions.

These combined diplomatic and economic measures reflect the international effort to pressure all parties toward a negotiated settlement regarding the war. The focus remains on leveraging international cooperation to encourage dialogue between the key leaders involved.
