MPB: 35 motorcyclists were sanctioned for not wearing protective helmets

During a focused traffic enforcement checkpoint conducted in the Shtip area on April 4, between 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM, officers from the Mobile Unit for Traffic Safety of the Traffic Issues Sector issued a total of 55 sanctions. The operation specifically targeted operators of mopeds, motorcycles, quad bikes, and electric scooters who were observed operating in violation of established traffic regulations. The sanctions issued covered a range of infractions, from minor regulatory breaches to more serious criminal violations.

The most frequently cited violation accounted for 35 of the total sanctions, relating to the failure to wear appropriate protective gear, specifically the use of a helmet while operating a motorcycle. In addition to the helmet violations, officers issued sanctions for several other offenses. These included one case of driving under the influence of alcohol, one instance involving an expired driver’s license, and three citations for operating vehicles with undisplayed license plates.

Furthermore, the intensive checkpoint uncovered six instances classified as criminal acts related to “careless driving of a vehicle,” citing violations under Article 29. The overall operation underscored the authorities’ commitment to maintaining safety standards across various motorized vehicles operating within the region.
