ATK publishes the new version of the Electronic EDI System; “Request for Fiscalization” service is added

The Tax Administration of Kosovo (ATK) has released an updated version of its Electronic System, “EDI,” incorporating a novel service termed “Request for Fiscalization.” Details regarding this update are available on the ATK website. According to the ATK, this new service has been implemented in compliance with Administrative Directive (MF) No. 01/2026.

This directive governs the utilization of electronic fiscal devices, fiscal systems, and electronic fiscal software. The primary objective of introducing this service is to provide taxpayers with a Unique Code for Fiscalization. This code is a mandatory prerequisite for any entity intending to use Electronic Fiscal Software (SEF).

The “Request for Fiscalization” service is designed to facilitate the application process for taxpayers. Specifically, it supports those businesses that are planning to begin using SEF, as well as those currently in the process of transitioning from traditional fiscal devices to the new electronic software. This development marks a significant enhancement to Kosovo’s digital tax compliance infrastructure.

By streamlining the process of obtaining the necessary fiscalization code, the ATK aims to ensure that all businesses adopting electronic fiscal methods can do so efficiently and in accordance with the latest regulatory standards. The implementation of this new electronic feature underscores the ATK’s commitment to modernizing tax administration processes.
