Ferizaj-Gjilan highway blocked due to heavy rainfall

The Kosovo Police have issued a notice confirming that the Ferizaj-Gjilan highway, located within the village of Dardani, is currently inaccessible to vehicle traffic. The closure has been implemented because of significant water accumulation resulting from intense rainfall across the region. According to the Regional Directorate of Police in Ferizaj, the adverse conditions were precipitated by heavy rainfall that impacted several nearby communities, including Dardani, Ramjan, and Zllatar.

The official advisory stated, “Due to the heavy rainfall that has fallen in the villages of Dardani, Ramjan, and Zllatar, the Ferizaj-Gjilan highway, in the village of Dardani, is completely blocked to vehicle circulation due to the large amount of water, until further notice.”

Authorities emphasized the severity of the situation, noting that the volume of standing water rendered the roadway unsafe for passage. Consequently, the police have strongly advised all motorists to utilize established alternative routes while the conditions persist. Travelers are urged to monitor official updates regarding the resumption of normal travel conditions on the key thoroughfare connecting Ferizaj to Gjilan.

The public is advised to exercise caution and await official clearance before attempting to traverse the affected section of the highway.
