Kosovo’s President, Albulena Haxhiu, has stated that following the official certification of election results, political parties must enter into dialogue to determine a resolution regarding the presidency. Speaking to RTK from Sofia, Haxhiu outlined a phased approach to the electoral conclusion. She stressed that the initial and mandatory step involves the completion of the entire counting process, which encompasses absentee, conditional, and assisted votes.
According to Haxhiu, the procedural completion of the count is a prerequisite for any further political action. “After the certification of the election result, we must engage in meetings with the political parties in order to find a solution for the issue of the presidency,” Haxhiu stated. She emphasized that while the finalization of the vote tabulation is crucial, the subsequent steps require more than just administrative completion.
Haxhiu pointed out that sustained commitment and demonstrable political will are necessary to prevent the emergence of institutional blockades. The focus, she asserted, must now be on allowing the full electoral process to conclude before substantive negotiations can commence. The President indicated that the immediate priority is observing the successful finalization of the counting procedures, setting the stage for necessary political consensus-building among the various parties.
