LSDM has accused Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski of implicitly admitting to a past criminal act through his public statements concerning the water supply in Gostivar. The accusation stems from a statement Mickoski made two days ago, wherein he stated, “I believe that for the first time after many years, citizens will use water that is completely bacteriological safe.”
Critics argue that this statement constitutes an admission that for over two years, during the period when OBRM-PDUKM held governing authority, the water in Gostivar was not bacteriological safe. According to the accusers, the prime minister’s comments imply that the authorities were aware of the contaminated water for two years but remained silent while residents consumed it.
Furthermore, the issue of safety remains unresolved. Mickoski himself reportedly mentioned that a new bacterium appeared following hyperchlorination processes. In response, Minister Klekovski had promised that the water would be safe by the end of the week.
However, citizens are still awaiting official confirmation regarding the quality and safety of the supply. The continued uncertainty over the potability of the water supply remains a central point of contention, with the opposition citing the lapse of two years of potential public health risk.
