In a formal statement, the association presented several legal grounds for challenging the ruling.
They asserted that the existing decision does not align with the established criteria outlined in Article 15 of Law No. 08/L-018 concerning the trade of refined fuels and oil products. Furthermore, the traders pointed to a contradiction with Administrative Directive (QRK) No.
03/2022, which reportedly restricts the duration of such price control measures to a maximum period of 90 days. The association emphasized that the current pricing structure creates a significant disparity when compared to general market price increases. These concerns suggest that the industry stakeholders view the mandated controls as arbitrary and unsustainable.
The core demand remains the swift and immediate revocation of the price control decision, allowing the oil market to operate under conditions that the traders believe support both commercial stability and consumer welfare.
