“Prishtina Parking” workers protest over wages, warn of work stoppage

Workers at the Public Enterprise “Prishtina Parking” demonstrated in front of the facility on Monday, voicing demands for the immediate payment of outstanding salaries and a definitive resolution to ongoing financial difficulties within the enterprise. Union representatives stated that the salaries for the current month have not been disbursed by the established deadline. They issued a warning that if the situation does not improve, the employees plan to suspend their work activities.

Flamur Hajdari, the head of the “Prishtina Parking” Workers’ Union, reported that approximately 200 workers are impacted by these salary delays. Hajdari addressed the Municipality of Pristina, calling for intervention and assistance to stabilize the operations of the parking enterprise. He emphasized the contractual obligations regarding payment timelines, noting that the scheduled payment date, which was the fifth of the month, has already passed without resolution.

The protest highlights significant labor concerns regarding the financial stability of the public sector entity in Prishtina. The workers’ union is advocating for direct municipal intervention to ensure that the payroll obligations are met promptly. The demonstration serves as a public appeal for the local government to address the financial strain affecting the workforce at the key urban parking facility.
