Effective September 1st, preschool education in Pristina will undergo a significant restructuring of its daily schedule. The Municipality of Pristina’s Director of Education, Arianit Elshani, announced that the duration of learning for preschool students will increase, extending from two to four instructional hours. The adjustment aims to provide a more structured and comprehensive daily routine for both students and parents within the Pristina community.
Elshani detailed the new operational framework, which divides the student body into two distinct groups. The first group will operate from 7:45 AM to 11:45 AM, while the second group is scheduled from 11:45 AM to 3:45 PM. According to the Director, the extension of these daily hours is intended to maximize developmental opportunities.
This expanded time is allocated to support enhanced learning activities, structured playtime, various extracurricular engagements, and increased opportunities for peer socialization among the students. The implementation of this revised schedule marks a notable shift in educational policy for early childhood care in the region. Authorities have stated that the increased duration is designed to offer a more balanced educational experience, ensuring that the curriculum integrates academic learning with necessary physical and social development time.
