Nazmije Demolli Kastrati, the Coordinator of the Municipal Unit for Human Rights in the Municipality of Kamenica, has announced the activation of a new reporting mechanism designed to support civil rights. The initiative is accessible via the dedicated website, www.raportodiskriminimin.org. This secure platform is intended to provide citizens with a confidential means to report instances of discrimination, with specific attention given to cases involving early marriages.
According to Kastrati, the platform functions as a critical tool, enabling the safe documentation of rights violations and facilitating necessary intervention by competent institutional bodies. In parallel efforts to address vulnerable populations, Demolli Kastrati also reported a significant directive issued by the Prime Minister of Kosovo. This decision mandates the establishment of a specialized Working Group focused on the Prevention of Early Marriages.
This group will specifically serve the Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian communities residing in Kosovo. The newly formed Working Group is expected to assume a central coordinating role in developing and executing comprehensive activities aimed at safeguarding the rights and well-being of these groups. The combined actions—the accessible reporting platform and the creation of the specialized working group—underscore a concerted effort by local authorities to strengthen mechanisms against human rights abuses and ensure greater protection for all residents.
