Unit A4 returns to operation

Kosovo’s energy corporation has confirmed that the A4 unit has resumed operation following the completion of necessary renovations. The company announced that the A4 unit has commenced its startup process and is anticipated to synchronize with the electrical grid in the near future. KEK issued a notice advising the public that, due to technical requirements associated with the startup phase, smoke emissions may be more noticeable over the course of several hours.

KEK specifically requested the understanding of the Municipality of Obiliq and its residents during this temporary period. The return of the A4 unit is a significant development for regional energy supply, aiming to bolster the overall capacity of the power infrastructure. The successful reintegration of this unit is expected to contribute to grid stability and reliable power distribution across the serviced areas.

The company emphasized that the startup procedure is a standard, albeit temporary, phase required to bring major generating assets back online safely. Stakeholders are advised to monitor official communications from KEK for updates regarding the full resumption of normal operation and grid synchronization timelines.
