Water consumption increases, KRU “Prishtina” appeals for responsible use

The Regional Water Utility Company, Prishtina, has issued an appeal to its residents urging careful and responsible use of drinking water due to elevated consumption levels throughout the summer season. The utility’s notice emphasizes that this request is aimed at maintaining a sustainable water supply for all consumers. To ensure resource conservation, citizens are specifically asked to limit the use of potable water for several common activities.

These restrictions include refraining from using drinking water to irrigate yards and gardens, washing vehicles, cleaning public or private spaces, filling private pools and reservoirs, and leaving decorative fountains running unnecessarily. Prishtina stated that collective cooperation and heightened public awareness are crucial components in guaranteeing a consistent and sustainable supply of drinking water for all sectors. The appeal addressed families, institutions, and businesses alike, framing responsible usage as a shared civic responsibility.

The company concluded by thanking the community for its understanding and cooperation in managing the current water demands. Adherence to these guidelines is necessary to mitigate the strain on the regional water infrastructure during this period of increased consumption.
